Our Approach

Our approach is informed by Integral Yoga, Somatic Experiencing® and contemporary therapeutic frameworks. Blending Eastern wisdom with Western psychology these workshops are grounded in lived experience and are designed to give you practical tools you can apply today.

Meet your facilitators

Friends and colleagues for 10 years, Lisa and Yogatara are known for their grounded approach, deep insight and healthy senses of humour. Together they share backgrounds in clinical therapy, spiritual care, trauma healing, and international humanitarian work, and bridge Eastern wisdom traditions with Western psychology.

  • Yogatara is an Integral Yoga instructor, retreat leader & holistic therapist with a specialisation in trauma renegotiation.
    After living in Nepal for more than two decades where she owned and ran the Isha Institute for 15 years, she now works with individuals, leads workshops & consults for organisations worldwide.
    Yogatara has deep, matrilineal roots in Maine; a homing point in a life she lives across three continents and cultures.

  • Lisa is a licensed social worker in Colorado & Texas, a retired volunteer firefighter, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), member of Team Rubicon and expert in mass fatality and disaster preparedness/management. For over 40 years Lisa has worked in the field of clinical social work, mental health, trauma and disaster.

    She has traveled the world to support individuals, organisations and governments in their times of greatest need, and in preparing for the worst.
