Nada Yoga Workshop

If you have ever played a particular piece of music to get into a certain mood, or been soothed (or annoyed!) by the sound of a familiar voice, you know firsthand the power of sound.

Sound is one of the fastest and most effective tools to shift our state of mind, body and being.

Nada Yoga, or the Yoga of sound, is a system of practices that uses the medium of sound vibration to focus, calm and clear the mind, and to fill the body with energy and wellbeing.

Nada Yoga is an integral part of classical Yoga. It originates from the realization of the ancient seers that the origin of all existence is spandan, vibration, and that the easiest way to perceive and work with this vibration is through the medium of sound.

While many systems of meditation require high levels of self-discipline, concentration and rigidity of posture to achieve one-pointedness, Nada Yoga achieves this effortlessly through awareness of the flow of sound. This is done either externally, such as in the practices of mantra, or internally, in a meditative process.

Join Amritamurti for this 2hr introduction to Nada Yoga. Come prepared for simple asana and pranayama before exploring sargam (the singing of notes) and the use of mantra to bring about focus, stillness and vitality.

No singing or musical abilities needed. Some previous experience in Yoga is helpful.
