The weather is stunning and the festival season lies just around the corner. Now is the perfect time to get out into the hills for a day of Yoga and hiking.

A day to nourish your heart, head & body with true goodness.
We head out of Kathmandu bright & early (7.30am) to a beautiful new retreat space, Vishuddhi Alaya, in the foothills of Namo Buddha. An early morning drive out of the city (1.5 hr) gets us to our host for the day in time for a light breakfast and prepares us for 2-hour practice of Yoga sadhana. This session includes asana (postures), pranayama (breathing practices), simple meditation and deep relaxation (Yoga Nidra). All levels of experience are welcome.
Inspired, centered & energized from our yogic practice, we nourish our bellies with a homemade vegetarian meal and make our way out into the hills to walk our way through the valleys, back towards the capital. We aim to reach Panauti and have our vehicle do the rest of the “legwork” back to the city by 5pm (traffic depending!).
About the Yoga offered:
The yoga practiced and taught is inspired by the Bihar Yoga Tradition. This integral approach draws from the traditional systems of Hatha, Raja, Bhakti, Karma, Jnana and Kriya yoga, and aims to develop and balance the various dimensions of one’s being– body, mind, emotions, and psyche– leading to a health-full, joy-full and authentic life. The Bihar Yoga approach offers a comprehensive means for people of various beliefs, cultures and backgrounds to find practical tools that encourage wellness and an inspired life.
A typical Yoga session includes asana (physical postures), pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditative practices. The depth and variety of practices make this approach suitable for people of all ages, and of different physical ability. Classes are easily adaptable to practitioners of various experience levels.
