Join us for an incredible journey to glimpse the essence of tantric sadhana & celebration of the divine feminine. Through the use of mantra, yantra and mandala–the most powerful tools for inner experience– this retreat offers an authentic experience of tantric practice under the guidance of a true yogic master, Swami Satyasangananda Saraswati the spiritual head of Rikhiapeeth Ashram and yogini.
This retreat takes place in two parts.
The first includes a 3-day intensive practice (sadhana) dedicated to Saundarya Lahari– the extolling and awakening of the divine feminine. This involves morning yogic practice (asana, pranayama, mudra, bandha), daily meditation sessions, satsang (discourse) and introduction to mantra (sacred sound), yantra (geometric representations of consciousness) and mandala. This sadhana is directly overseen by Swami Satyasangananda herself.
The second part of this retreat consists of the celebration of Askhaya Tritya through the tantric worship of the Sri Yantra by Yoginis of South India. This is considered a very powerful practice, as Akshaya Tritiya is a symbol of the eternal element present in the manifest and unmanifest universe and lends its indestructible force to all that we undertake on these days. In other words, it is an auspicious time to cleanse, set intentions, and dedicate ourselves to our growth and evolution.
Throughout our stay we live- and participate in ashram life, embracing a yogic lifestyle and partaking in karma yoga and the other programs made available to us.
Rikhiapeeth ashram is the tapobhumi of Swami Satyananda Saraswati, the founder of the Bihar School of Yoga and world renowned yogic master. Since his passing, Swami Satyasangananda (warmly known as Swami Satsangi) has been the spiritual leader of the ashram. An inspiring and extraordinary woman, she oversees the various courses and events held at the ashram and directs the many projects the ashram coordinates with its local community to serve and uplift its neighbors.
